It is the beginning of a new era for Somalia, that’s according to the newly elected president Mohamed Adbullahi Farmajo.

After three decades of no effective central government, Farmajo’s victory is being interpreted as a signal for new hope for the troubled nation; but the road to reform will not be an easy one. The aid- dependent state faces an imminent food crisis, empty coffers and an ongoing Islamist insurgency.

And while the new president has vowed to get to work immediately, what is Farmajo’s game plan for Somalia?
