Senegal President Macky Sall has reiterated Senegal’s commitment to support Morocco and the King, saying that Senegal “has greatly appreciated the initiative and considers that the natural place of Morocco is also within the ECOWAS.”

The President was speaking during a meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar who visited the West African nation on Saturday according to the report by Morocco World News.

Morocco was officially submitted its interest in joining the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The Moroccan Minister Salaheddine Mezouar said that Senegal has always supported, “in a committed and strong way at all levels,” the kingdom’s return to the African institutional family.

Morocco’s initiative to join ECOWAS is consistent with logic and continuity, based on the Kingdom links with all ECOWAS countries through agreements, partnerships, investments and cultural exchanges according to the Minister.
