More than 7 million people in Lake Chad basin urgently need food aid

Read < 1 minute

Countries in the Lake Chad basin are among those battling food shortages.

That is mainly due to the impact of Boko Haram’s near decade long insurgency. Aid agencies reckon more than 7-million people in Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon need help. And, of course, it’s the youngest who are the hardest hit.

CGTN’s Peninah Karibe visited a health centre in Chad which is on the frontline of the struggle to save starving children. She filed this exclusive report.
