Deputy President William Ruto is in Brazil to support the Kenyan team at the Olympic Games.

Kenya is participating in seven disciplines — athletics, boxing, archery, judo, weightlifting, rugby and swimming.

The DP’s support will not only boost the morale of the Kenyan athletes but will signal to the Brazilian government that Kenya values their relationship.

Brazil sees Kenya an important partner in the East African region and established a diplomatic mission in Nairobi in 1967.
