Chinese President unveils a funding package for Africa

China’s President Xi Jinping has unveiled a funding package for Africa, worth around sixty billion US dollars.

The package includes loans, investment and education, and training for thousands of young Africans.

The announcement came at the start of the Focus on China-Africa Co-operation FOCAC summit, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Leaders from across Africa are meeting their Chinese counterparts at the summit.
