The Black Stars have reached six consecutive semi-finals in the continental showpiece, but have failed to lift the coveted trophy on all those occasions.
The last time the Ghanaians lifted an AFCON title was way back in 1982, and any hopes of that changing were dashed last night with the painful loss to Cameroon.

As the Ghanaians poured forward in search of an equalizer, the Cameroonians broke away in stoppage time to slot in a second through Christian Bassogog, leaving the Black Stars in tears.
The Ghanaians will now battle it out with Burkina Faso for third place in a play-off that will be held on Saturday.
Burkina Faso lost to Egypt in the other semi-final on Wednesday through a penalty shoot-out after they had played a 1-1 draw.
The final between Egypt and Cameroon will be played on Sunday, with the Pharaohs seeking a record eighth title.
