The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will draw to a close on Sunday in a colourful event that will see five African female musicians perform alongside hundreds of Gabonese young men and women.

Cote d’Ivoire’s Josey,Cameroon’s Charlotte Dipanda,Gabon’s Pamela Badjogo,Mali’s Rokia Traore and Senegal’s Coumba Gawlo will perform a song dedicated to Africa’s fight against cancer, at the Stade de l’Amitie in the Gabonese capital, Libreville,

This will be the first time the continental competition’s closing ceremony involves purely women celebrities.

The 2017 AFCON final will pit record seven-time champions Egypt against four-time champions Cameroon in a repeat of the 2008 final.

Egypt beat The Indomitable Lions on that occasion, and the Cameroonians will definitely relish this opportunity to exert their revenge.

Before Sunday however, Burkina Faso will play Ghana in a third-place play-off as both sides look to end the competition in a podium spot.

The AFCON competition kicked-off on January 14, as 16 teams descended in Gabon to compete for continental honours.

After three weeks of battle, it is either the Pharaohs or the Indomitable Lions that will lift the coveted trophy.
