South Africa’s Jaco Peyper has been selected to referee the Bledisloe Cup decider between defending champions New Zealand and Australia in Auckland.
The second game is not a Rugby Championship match as the tournament’s format was shortened to accommodate the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan in September.
Peyper was one of two assistant referees during that game.
Peyper began refereeing in 2001 aged 20 and notably took charge of the first test between New Zealand and the British and Irish Lions in 2017. He also was appointed referee for the 2019 Super Rugby Final between the Crusaders and Jaguares in Christchurch.
Peyper has been named South African Rugby Union Referee of the Year three times: in 2012, 2017 and 2018.
